BBC believes that Small Groups is a vital part of church life to enhance the spiritual growth of its members and facilitate their integration into the church. Small groups may vary substantially in size but normally comprise groups of people numbering from 6 to 16, who meet weekly in homes or other convenient venues. The day and time of meeting differs from group to group providing alternative options for people to connect with a group most suited to their needs. Specific attention is given to connecting people at similar stages of life to encourage continuing engagement with one another beyond the weekly meeting.

One of the prime purposes of Small Groups is to study the word of God in an interactive forum utilising a library of study materials comprising DVDs, Video Tapes, Audio Tapes and study guides or by simply doing studies directly from Gods word. Generally the groups determine their own method and content depending on their interest and spiritual maturity but from time to time a particular churchwide study will be promoted on a particular theme. 

Small groups have a definite benefit of facilitating support and care for one another in an environment of trust and as people become free to share their lives and challenges this invariably leads to meaningful times of prayer as they reach out to God together.

Many folk have experienced the joy of serving together through Small Groups either through specific service opportunities within the church or in some form of project that the group identify to those in need outside the church. Small Groups is also an ideal forum to help people identify and develop their gift, particularly in such areas as teaching, facilitating or caring.

While BBC would not describe itself as a church of Small Groups, our goal is to encourage the connection of every member into a small group wherever practically possible as this provides an efficient support structure for pastoral care in the church.
