Welcome to our Kid’s Church page! Kid’s Church is a primary school group that meets on a Sunday Morning. At Kid’s Church we learn that God is BIG and POWERFUL! It is such fun to engage with God’s story and to learn how much He loves us in a way that is real and relevant to today’s kids! No boring colouring in here! We splash, paint, eat (a lot), race, play and hunt for treasure – it’s super cool! We even have motorbikes! BBC Kid’s Church – a multi-media and everything fun and exciting approach to church!

The Team
We have an awesome team of people working with your children. We all work together in the first part of the morning and then each leader works specifically with one small group. The small group leaders will lead, direct and care for the children in that small group. A Thought for Parents

I have had so many questions about sex and related topics from both parents and kids in the last few months. Parents grappling with how do you share what sex is all about in a godly way, how we protect our child, how much detail do we need to go into and mostly just a lot of “Help! I’m not ready for this!” The kids (ages 9 to 12) are grappling with how do I know what it is, what’s love got to do with sex, why did God invent sex and I have seen these pictures/ movies …

Goodness me! I am a children’s pastor not the youth pastor – but the reality is our children, not just teens, are exposed to sex in many different forms from a much younger age. We have the lollipop lounge billboards all over town, kid’s in their class whose dads have had affairs, movies, music, fashion and porn … and I’m afraid lots of it. So it is now part of my job to be interested in this, how it is affecting our children and what we as a church and as Christian parents are going to do about it. One of the biggest mistakes I have seen in the last few months is the reaction … those are the thoughts of other children, children who are not from our part of town, children who don’t go to church. That is the biggest lie we can tell ourselves – these questions came from our kids, from our church right in the heart of Bryanston.

So parents I ask you to join me … let’s partner together and reach this next generation with truth … the truth about what God created sex to be like and not what the world has changed it into. For this we are going to need courage, prayer and to love our kids enough to talk about this important topic before the world does.

I came across a blog from the Village Church in the USA that has some good thoughts on how we tackle this problem – hope you take up the challenge

Mommy, when does God sleep?

“Mommy, when does God sleep?” is a question many parents dread. Children are so concrete in their thinking and understanding and as parents we feel so ill-equipped to be able to deal with the faith questions of our children.

5 Things Parents Need To Say ...

1.    I love you!

  • To each other – your children need to be assured of your love for each other. Tell your spouse how much you love them in front of your kids and tell your kids how much you love your spouse.
  • To your children – you can never say I love you too much.
