Why?

Teenagers have an entirely different idea of truth than kids. Although they’re still happy to take mom’s cooking and dad’s cash, they start feeling out their own way in terms of beliefs and ideas. They want truth that makes sense, not just the ‘because the Bible says so’ line that kids so easily swallow.
At GODSWORD we look at the Bible through the eyes of a teenager and unpack all the questions that pop up, not just the easily explained stuff. We look at great stuff the Bible has as well as the stories of war, sex and sin that most of the books of the Bible contain. All the stuff that kids don’t get taught in Sunday school gets a look at in a way that applies to teens.
A safe environment is essential when looking at taboo subjects like abortion, dating, sex and divorce, and we aim to create that safe environment where teens get answers in a way that glorifies God and prepares them for the adulthood that comes all too quickly these days.

Where?

We meet in the youth room @ BBC on bean bag chairs and couches. The room is kitted out with a big screen TV, X-Box and games and is the perfect place for teens to come and engage on topics that, like it or not, they are facing daily at school and with their friends.
